City amends electricity rate structure in Garden City
Garden City commissioners vote to raise a new electric rate plan set to take effect in June marking the first increase since 1998. The change aims to have all utility customers pay a fair share while increasing base charges. The start date was moved from April after talks with Sunflower Electric Power Corp. and Wheatland Electric due to a planned Holcomb station outage.
