Docking Programs Face Hard Sell in Kansas Senate
Kansas Senate leader Sen. Robert Bennett says Gov. Docking’s proposed programs face opposition in the 1973 session. Bennett questions a broad mandate from the 229,000 vote win and notes lawmakers will require specifics on measures like the property tax circuit breaker and tax policies before backing them. He favors expanding homestead relief and funding local schools, while warning against federal tax disallowance on state returns.
