Lawmakers urge quicker ruling on Kansas high voltage lines
In Topeka lawmakers protest a year delay by regulators on ITC Great Plains and Prairie Wind Transmission line projects. The plans would place up to 6 times current capacity across southern Kansas, linking wind farms to consumers with routes totaling 180 to 230 miles at about 2.2 million per mile. The Kansas Corporation Commission targets 2009 qualification and 2010 selection, amid calls for expedited timelines to avoid wind generation moving to Oklahoma.
