Revised Freedom Tower design unveiled for WTC site
New design for the Freedom Tower rises 1,776 feet with a lattice windmill top. The plan blends Libeskind and Childs concepts, featuring a cable suspended, wind energy ready form. Officials praise the project as restoring skyline resilience while planning a 2009–2013 construction timeline.
