Oklahoma lawmaker seeks changes after acquittal in religious care case
Oklahoma City AP reports Rep. George Vaughn says the 1975 child protection law allowing parents to deny medical care for religious reasons was improperly applied in the acquittal of Palmer and Patsy Lockhart of Enid, whose 9 year old son died. Vaughn will push changes while Brunton cautions against repealing religious protections. The jury said they acted under the law's good faith religious belief provision.
