Living Christmas Pageant at First United Methodist Church
Garden City hosts the Living Christmas Pageant in the church parking lot at Main and Kansas. For 26 years Bernadine Sitts has directed a cast of 350 church members, with cars counted in the thousands as the Bethlehem story is performed in shifts starting at 6:30 p.m. Each year volunteers handle costumes sets and lighting while neighbors supply props such as a lantern, and signups occur in November for this drive-in pageant that draws wide community participation.
