Tinseltown event spreads cheer with Santa and crafts
Chris Ayers and his two children attend the Tinseltown arts and crafts fair while Santa's presence draws families. Daniel Grimes notes kids ask for tablets and kittens as he jokes about not shaving. Garden City residents enjoy the zoo’s proximity and meet Santa. Friends of Lee Richardson Zoo volunteers showcase Charlie the Turtle Dove and discuss primate exhibit funding. After the fair, visitors explore the museum’s Holiday Open House and Santa's Workshop exhibit, donated from the Windsor Hotel and featuring toy props. Museum director Steve Quakenbush says the workshop will remain for about three weeks. Local residents reminisce about the 1965 flood while admiring the Savannah exhibit and rides in vintage trucks.
