Sex charges filed against suspect in slaying
Israel Mireles 24 faces aggravated indecent liberties with a child charges tied to a 16 year old pregnant girl believed to be with him as he flees. He is a suspect in the death of Emily Sander, an 18 year old Butler Community College student last seen Nov. 23 after leaving an El Dorado bar with Mireles. The charge alleges intercourse with a person under 16 around May 7, 2007. The girl is eight months pregnant. she turned 16 in September 2007. Mireles potentially traveled to Mexico with her. investigators found possible evidence in Baxter Springs. The case is handled by the Kansas attorney general’s office.
