UFO Seekers Frozen in North Dakota Night Sky Tragedy
Gerald Flach and LaVerne Landis wandered Minnesota and the Dakotas from May to November seeking unidentified flying objects and contact with spirits. Landis died of starvation and hypothermia after weeks without food or water, while Flach survived and was hospitalized. The couple belonged to the Search and Prove group which advocated astral projection and spirit contact headed by Jerry Gross, with connections to a center in Afton, Minnesota.
