Delinquent tax sale nets $58,500 in Finney County
The first Finney County tax sale since the early 1970s raised about $58,500 to cover back real estate taxes of roughly $52,000. About 30 attendees crowded the courthouse steps and lobby during the auction, with six parcels purchased for $12,068. Sheriff Grover Craig led the auction as bidders chased parcels including vacant lots and homes, some redeemed beforehand. The county may lease or sell the acquired parcels, while Holcomb recreation plans receive a park or pool site from Holstrom purchases.

He contrasted it with an austere basic budget that spends less and offers no new money for education or highways, arguing the investment budget is needed for growth and jobs.
