Water pollution woes at ConAgra persist in Kansas
The KDHE and EPA documents detail repeated violations at ConAgra's Brookover operations, including high total suspended solids and ammonia, with monitoring wells required and new permits issued. Inspectors report several inadequacies in the treatment system and delays in enforcement actions, while a fire and plant downtime complicate ongoing oversight. KDHE notes acceptable ranges in wells drilled November 28 and outlines ongoing monthly reporting and remediation of salt brine ponds near the gardens site.
