City grants GCRC funding at special Garden City meeting
Garden City commissioners unanimously approved 382597 in funds for the Garden City Recreation Commission to cover November and December payroll, payroll liabilities, accounts payable and a January 2016 lease and insurance. The bailout will be paid from the Community Trust Fund with a 233000 expected reimbursement from three property sales and January 2016 tax distributions. City Manager Matt Allen said the GCRC board sought aid after a November 30 meeting found payroll and bill payments impossible.
