Watergate prosecutor Leon Jaworski dies at 77 in Texas
Leon Jaworski, Houston lawyer who secured the Watergate tapes that led to Richard Nixon's resignation, died at age 77 on his Circle J ranch in Wimberley Texas. He collapsed while chopping wood and was pronounced dead later. Born 1905 in Waco he was the youngest Texas lawyer at 20 and served in many national roles including UFC and the Warren Commission.

In Kansas City Missouri, a mistrial was declared in the first degree murder trial of 19 year old Michael P. Anderson, charged in the March 9 slaying of William H. Smith Jr., director of the U S Department of Energy office.
