Lennon Memorials Mark 20 Years Since His Death in Central Park
Hundreds of John Lennon fans gathered in Strawberry Fields, Central Park, to remember the former Beatle twenty years after his assassination. Fans from near and far lit candles and left notes near a mosaic bearing Imagine, while others hoped the vigil would continue into Saturday before Giuliani’s curfew. In Cleveland, fans visited the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to sign a card for Lennon’s widow and view memorabilia including his bloodstained glasses.
