Postal cuts threaten mail delivery and shift to online services
The Postal Service plans to close about 250 mail processing centers and 3,700 local offices, lengthening first class delivery to two or three days and periodicals to two to nine days. The moves aim to save up to 6.5 billion dollars annually but could push consumers toward online options and raise costs for prescriptions and other services.
