For 2009 about 2.93 million in projects exist with 1.5 million budgeted plus 300,000 in Special Highway and 100,000 in Special Equipment funds. Hugoton votes to ban Sunday liquor sales in 2005
Voters in Hugoton approve a Sunday sales ban for liquor and convenience stores. The measure, supported by church groups, would have allowed Sunday sales only on non Easter and Christmas Sundays, prompting a tie vote broken by Mayor Bowden. The ban aims to deter youth drinking and preserves Sunday as a day of worship. Local residents petitioned against Sunday sales and backed by signatures from Hugoton and some county residents.
