Soybean rust confirmed in southeast Missouri

Asian soybean rust, a fungus that can cut crop production, has been found in southeast Missouri. Officials say it will not affect this year’s harvest, but planning for next year is needed. Potential treatment costs could reach about 100 million dollars if all 5 million Missouri soybean acres are treated.
