Study links teen pot use to later IQ decline in Dunedin cohort
New Zealand researchers followed 1000 participants born in Dunedin through ages 18 to 38. Those who began daily marijuana use before 18 showed an IQ drop by age 38, unlike peers who started after 18 or never used heavily. Experts caution findings are not definitive but support concerns about adolescent brain development.

Can Curiosity mission inspire like Apollo?
Los Angeles AP reports Curiosity sparks high public interest with its Mars landing and seven minutes of terror, triggering a web crash from nearly 2 billion hits. Smithsonian curator Roger Launius calls it exciting though not on Apollo’s scale as Armstrong and Aldrin inspired a world watched by about 600 million people. The piece traces public fascination from Mercury to Apollo, Shuttle, and ISS eras, noting unmanned missions carved paths while manned journeys defined awe.
