Fe lix Sanchez, 19, faces first degree murder charges for the May 15 shooting death of Richard Lyons in rural Finney County. The preliminary hearing was rescheduled to 9 a.m. Oct 6 to allow his new attorney time to prepare. Sanchez also faces charges of solicitation to commit first degree murder and aggravated intimidation of a witness.
Tyler Henderson, 28, of 909 N Fifth St, faces three counts of sexual exploitation of a child. His second court appearance is set for 9:20 a.m. Sept. 16 in Chief District Judge Wendell Wurst's court. Henderson was arrested July 27 following a year long ICAC investigation in Wichita. He previously appeared July 28 before Judge Ricklin Pierce. He could face 68 months maximum under state law, with a $250,000 bond. Henderson has been on paid leave from Buffalo Dunes Golf Course since 2014 and remains jailed in Finney County.
Aug 20 Juan Bonilla 21 was arrested at 3 am in the 1200 block of St John St on a nuisance deposit allegation. Zachary Gomez 28 was arrested at 10 30 am at the Law Enforcement Center on two bench warrants for dog at large driving while suspended and speeding. Keith Atkinson 36 was arrested at 11 35 am at the LE Center on a bench warrant for defective muf ler and no valid driver’s license. Darnell Wilks 47 was arrested at 10 30 am at the LE Center on a bench warrant for no valid driver’s license obstruction no proof of insurance reckless driving and transporting an open container. Wednesday Jared Papineau 31 was cited and released at 11 42 am at the Center for failure to appear. Samuel Allen 31 was cited and released at 11 42 am at the Center on an allegation of theft that occurred on a prior date. Mary St Lot 110 was arrested at 2 pm in the 600 block of Santa Fe Street on an allegation of lewd and lascivious behavior and for parole violation. Diana Villareal 22 was arrested at 12 15 pm in the 1100 block of Campus Drive on a warrant for failure to appear on allegations of trafficking contraband into a correctional facility possession of marijuana and possession of methamphetamine.
Garden City/Funney County Drug Task Force arrested Carlos Reyes and Allison Williams on methamphetamine possession with intent to distribute, paraphernalia and marijuana charges. SWAT served a search warrant at their Garden City home about 7 20 a.m. Friday, finding items tied to drug sale and possession.

Terry Kubes 61 of Clay Center died August 26 2016 in Clay Center. Born April 19 1955 in Honolulu to Warren Kubes and Darlene Vanourny he served in the US Navy and worked as a shipping supervisor for Hutchinson Magrath and previously IBP. He married Debra McGranahan May 23 1998 and is survived by his wife three children two stepchildren five sisters three brothers and eight grandchildren. A memorial service is at Neill Schwensen Rock Funeral Home Clay Center with visitation Tuesday. Memorials may be sent to Terry Kubes Memorial Fund care of the funeral home.
