Telescope network finds planet TrES-1 around distant star
Astronomers using a network of small telescopes discovered Jupiter sized planet TrES-1 orbiting a star 500 light years away. The hot Jupiter travels a 3.03 day orbit with a temperature near 1500 degrees, illustrating early exoplanet detection advances.
