Mixed results for area schools from State Finance Council
Eight southwest Kansas districts sought 3.4 million in emergency aid but received less than half. Garden City USD 457 got about 56 thousand of 1.09 million requested, as the council tabled parts of its request to cover a Finney County Clerk error and tax repayments to Conestoga Energy Partners. The panel approved about 2 million for 13 districts with enrollment growth, while USD 457, Bonner Springs USD 204 and Olathe USD 233 were left ineligible for growth-based funds.
