New AIDS like disease found in Asians not contagious
A mysterious adult onset immunodeficiency with AIDS like symptoms has been identified in Asia and among Asian migrants in the United States. It is not caused by HIV and appears not to spread between people. Researchers in Thailand and Taiwan report over 200 cases showing autoantibodies blocking interferon gamma, leaving patients vulnerable to mycobacterial infections and other germs.
