Hearing aids help reduce persistent tinnitus noise
Dear Dr Donohue explains tinnitus causes and relief options. It notes medicines that worsen tinnitus such as aspirin NSAIDs certain antibiotics and Lasix. It lists caffeine salt quinine tonic water and explains hearing loss can intensify tinnitus but cannot be caused by tinnitus itself. A hearing aid or tinnitus masker may help.
