Garden City transload facility to start after funding win

Garden City will receive $4.5 million in funding for a transload facility on about 900 acres in the U S 50 Industrial Park to load and unload cargo between railcars and trucks. Great Bend also secured funding as part of a $14 million project with state support from KDOT and Rail Service Improvement funds.

Black Bison Pub in Syracuse A hidden gem on Main Street

Syracuse readers meet Black Bison Pub at 122 N Main St. opened March 2014 by Matt Gould. In March, Tommy Thomeczek and Janet Thomeczek bought the business to settle Gould’s family plans.
