Post Plans To Fight Big Judgment
ATLANTA AP The Saturday Evening Post plans to appeal a 3 030 000 judgment awarded to former University of Georgia football coach Wallace Butts for libel. The $10 million suit against Curtis Publishing Co. followed a story alleging he shared game secrets with Bear Bryant before the 1962 Georgia game. The jury also awarded 70 000 for general damages and 3 million punitive. Butts said he is humbled and hopes to return to coaching. Bryant faces a separate $10 million suit. No trial date set.
