Statewide obesity rises. Kansas joins 25 percent club
Kansas has 25.8 percent adult obesity, 62.3 percent overweight or obese, placing it 23rd fattest. The Trust for America’s Health report says rising food costs, larger portions, and limited exercise drive the national trend toward higher obesity rates. Mississippi tops at 31.7 percent, with West Virginia and Alabama over 30 percent.
