Greeley County commissioners approved a 10 percent raise for sheriff's office staff after Sheriff Brad Clark announced his resignation over low pay and recruitment struggles. About 30 residents urged action at a Monday budget meeting. Clark, who had sought higher pay for years, said he may leave to become a police chief in Grandview Plaza. The raises will be funded by internal transfers with no net impact on the budget. Clark has not commented on whether the pay boost will change his plans.
