Betty Jean Dittmer, 85, died August 12, 2008, in Tribune Kansas. Born February 13, 1923, in Pawnee County, she lived in Greeley County since 1953. She taught, was a farm wife, First Baptist Church member, E H U member, and a life member of the Eastern Star. Survived by two sons, two daughters, ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren. Funeral 10:30 a.m. MDT Saturday at First Baptist Church Tribune. Burial Greeley County Cemetery. Memorials to Greeley County Health CenterLibrary or First Baptist Church. Price & Sons Funeral Home, Tribune, is handling arrangements.

A run of property crimes includes credit card misuse at Dillons West on Jones Avenue with a $300 loss, a stolen handicapped tag on College Street for $5, a bicycle theft on A Street for $75, vehicle window breakage on East U.S. Highway 50 with $500 loss, a rock‑shattered car window on Highway 50 for $300, and torn window screens at Alta Brown Elementary School on Pine Street with $65 loss.
At 5 a.m. in the 200 block of Washington Street a person was struck with a blunt object. At 11:45 p.m. in the 1600 block of Taylor Plaza another person was struck in the head.
Finney County Sheriff reports Thomas Irwin, 25, of 706 Conkling Ave, arrested at 10:20 a.m. on charges of use or possession of drug paraphernalia to introduce drugs and possession of hallucinogens. Angela Strickert, 32, of 365 Karen St, arrested at 10:45 a.m. on charges including possession with intent to sell within 1000 feet of a school, arranging drug sales via a communication facility, and lacking a drug tax stamp.
