Upward Bound Program at GCCC Faces Funding Loss
GCCC may drop its Upward Bound program after a $234,624 annual federal grant was not renewed. Fifty high school students, including Janet Huerta, would lose weekly counseling, college visits, and summer job shadowing. Talent Search remains funded with TEACHER plans continuing. If Act of 2007 passes, eligibility criteria may change and the program could stay.
