American Jews show drop in religious observance
A Hartford AP report notes the 2008 American Religious Identification Survey finds more Jews identify as secular or culturally Jewish. About 3.4 million Jews call themselves religious, from a 5.4 million population, while cultural identification rises from 20 percent in 1990 to 37 percent. The trend mirrors a rise in nonreligion among all US adults.
