United States Retaliates Over Poultry Tariffs Fight
The United States said it would retaliate against European Common Market tariff increases on American poultry if no settlement is reached. The plan would raise duties on Faropeat products to offset 840 million a year in poultry exports, signaling a tougher U.S. stance in widened world trade tensions with Europe. The move follows stalled talks as Europe seeks to protect farm surpluses and industrial needs.
