Finney County Rabbits Proposal Defeated by Commission

Finney County commissioners rejected a proposal by Hubert Biehm to ban rabbits in the county unless neighboring counties adopt the policy. The decision warned of possible high costs if the county bore the burden, per County Clerk Vincent Beckett. Ed Bergstrom of the American Cancer Society conducted a study in Western Kansas while in Garden City. Police report threats to Edward W. Weiser of Garden City, including tires damaged with nails during several nights. Maynars Krief of Garden City was among 19 CPA exam passers in May. Edward W. Lewis also passed under Kansas reciprocity.
