GCCC Coach Highlights Overlooked Point in Conference Proposal
Garden City Community College Athletic Director John Green notes the full proposal for Jayhawk Conference football bylaws includes expanding the active roster to 85 players and adding 12 Kansas players to home rosters if the out-of-state cap increases. He warns details are not being printed and urges clearer explanation ahead of Thursday’s Pratt vote by 19 presidents.

Royals keep Volquez as Rays shell Royals in St Petersburg
The Kansas City Royals decided to retain Edinson Volquez as the trade deadline passed, a move that could affect the off season. Wednesday night he allowed four earned runs in five innings in a 12 0 loss to the Rays at Tropicana Field, ballooning his season ERA to 4.22. General manager Dayton Moore said no offer at the deadline made sense, making the holdover a strategic choice for 2016.
