Flyers Sign Forsberg From Avalanche in 2 Year Deal
The Philadelphia Flyers lured Peter Forsberg from the Colorado Avalanche with a two year 11.5 million contract. Philadelphia also signed Derian Hatcher Mike Rathje and Chris Therien. Many other NHL moves followed including Turgeon Brisebois Naslund Iginla Leetch Kovalev and Gonchar among others shaping a busy free agent market under the cap.

Zidane Will Return to Lead France in World Cup Drive
Zinedine Zidane plans a comeback for France to help qualification for the 2006 World Cup. The 33 year old Real Madrid midfielder, a key figure in 1998 and 2000 titles, retired after Euro 2004 and will begin with an August 17 exhibition versus Ivory Coast before September qualifiers. He has 93 caps and 26 goals.

All-Pro Seymour joins Pats camp after holdout ends
Richard Seymour reported to New England's training camp on Wednesday after ending his holdout with a reported 1.2 million raise and talks of an extension. Pat Day, a Hall of Fame jockey, ends a 32 year riding career at age 51 after hip surgery and a return to racing. He won the 1992 Kentucky Derby aboard Lil E.
