Former Garden City teacher pleads to lesser charges
Keith Holzer 31 of 517 Colony St pleaded guilty May 18 to two counts of disorderly conduct and paid 300 dollar fines after appealing battery convictions from January. The incident in August 2009 involved Erin Dickens 24 and Cara Kieft 23 at Clarion Inn and later at a Campus Drive residence.

Hearing set in Scott City murder case
Marilyn Hoffman, 26, faces first-degree murder and child abuse charges in the death of her 3 month old son Xavier. A preliminary hearing is set for Sept 8 in Scott County. Hoffman was arrested July 10 in Wichita after the infant was hospitalized with life threatening injuries. Bond is $250,000.
