Solar Farm Construction Near Colby Begins Soon

Midwest Energy and Clean Energy Collective started ground breaking for a 1 megawatt community solar array north of Colby. The 3,960-panel farm could begin within 10 days, with a two month build and a year end operation goal. Rebates reduce panel price to 891 dollars with credits on monthly bills for purchasers.

Amish graves revived in Ford County cemetery restoration

An Iowa Amish group restored a long neglected Ford County cemetery south of Dodge City, placing 35 new headstones for Lovina Borntrager, Danny Borntrager and other settlers from 1906 to 1929. Descendants raised 5977 dollars to fund the revival, honoring children and overlooked graves amid droughts and grasshoppers that drove the community away.
