Kansas AG warns of tele phone credit card scam
The Kansas Attorney General office warns residents about a telephone scam in five counties claiming to be from Visa or Mastercard. Scammers target already known card numbers and addresses and ask for security numbers on the back. They pretend to verify legitimacy with badge numbers, but cards issuers never request those numbers. Consumers should not reveal personal or financial information and file police reports if scammed. Contact KS AG Consumer Protection at 800 432 2310 or visit ksag.org.
