FCEDC Vacancy Discussed by Finney County Commission
The Finney County Commission discussed filling Schwartz’s FCEDC seat after a Garden City Telegram notice. Two applicants at the time were Martin Nusser and Bob Sperling. DuVall said the GCCC board need not pick a trustee, Crist and others expect a trustee to fill Schwartz’s spot. In other business, DuVall reported talks with KDOT and private stakeholders on a 900 acre transload facility at the US 50 Industrial Park, with Garden City and Great Bend chosen as centers. KDOT has pledged 3 million to Great Bend and will announce Garden City funding after rail details with BNSF and private partners are set. Authorities question impact of governor’s proposed use of funds. DuVall says funds are set aside and not included in sweeping plans.
