Arbor Day observance celebration and history
Arbor Day invites plantings nationwide on the last Friday in April. Originating in 1872 in the Great Plains, the observance promotes tree planting and care, with Kansas among early leaders. It encourages flexible events from small neighborhood plantings to large regional celebrations and memorial plantings. For help, contact the Extension Office at 272-3670.
