Signalmalfunction Linked to Calif Train Collision
In Placentia California a head on crash between a Burlington Northern freight and a Metrolink double decker killed two and injured about 260 passengers. NTSB chair Marion Blakey cited a possibly faulty signal while noting investigation ongoing. About 162 injured were taken to ten hospitals with 19 in serious condition.
