Anderson loses bid for appeal in Kansas parole case
TOPEKA AP Lorna Anderson the church secretary imprisoned for the 1983 murders of her husband and the wife of a former Emporia minister who was her lover lost her appeal for release Monday. Shawnee County District Judge Matthew Dowd rejected Anderson's appeal to overturn the Kansas Parole Board's decision to deny her release from prison. Anderson contended that the parole board's decision was arbitrary and capricious because it did not disclose the nature of objections to her release and that she had served a disproportionately long sentence.
