Florida files a civil action in Leon County Circuit Court seeking 12 million dollars from the Florida Task Force for the Protection of Abused and Neglected Children. The private company was hired to reduce backlog of investigations but state says work was incomplete and workers did not interview or file required forms. The task force closed 13,752 cases since June 2000 and was paid 4.8 million, with officials noting over 30 percent required further work.
