Wet weekend forecast for western Kansas counties
A moisture system from Friday night into the weekend could drop about one to two inches of rain in areas west of Dodge City. Meteorologist Wesley Hovorka of the National Weather Service in Dodge City said thunderstorms would form mainly near the Kansas Colorado border, with activity spreading into western Kansas after sunset. The main precipitation window is late Friday night into Saturday, with Friday night storms bringing strong hail and damaging winds, especially west of Lakin and south to Liberal.
