Wind Farm Big Project Planned for Southwest Kansas
A $610 million wind energy project in Clark County, Kansas, announced as the state’s largest, will create construction jobs and inject millions into the local economy. It aims to power about 150,000 households for nearly three years, with ten wind farms coming online by 2017. Kansas is highlighted as a leading wind state, with renewables contributing about 23 percent of electricity and exports around 45 percent of wind power. The shift to voluntary renewables has been framed as stabilizing investment climate.
