Regional airport consolidation eyed for Garden City
Southwest Kansas officials discuss possible consolidation of Essential Air Service EAS with Liberal and Dodge City to create a regional hub at Garden City. Ed Neideberger and Dennis DeVaney say service could be split, four daily flights may occur, and funding boosts keep status quo. Garden City argues it is the central and best equipped site with higher enplanements, while others must volunteer or lose service. U.S. Rep. Moran notes efforts to cut costs and improve services through new approaches.
