Grant County man found guilty of murder in trailer shooting
A Grant County jury convicted 46 year old Michael Keyes of first degree murder for the March 23 2016 shooting death of 53 year old Jimmy Wayne Martin at a rural Grant County mobile home park after a two hour deliberation. The defense argued self defense, claiming Martin threatened with a knife and started a fire earlier. The prosecution presented a video of Keyes confessing to FBI agents. The investigation followed a missing persons report by Martin’s daughter Jennifer Williams filed April 4 2016. Williams testified Martin had visited St Louis around March 19 20 and the last text from him was dated March 20 to 22.
