City on a Hill awarded grant funds for emergency aid program
Five women completed the program with two using saved money for car repairs and dire needs. One saved about 7000 dollars toward a trailer home while a single mother of four builds her savings. The grant boosts the community, said co presidents Janie Welsh and Emmie Miller of Women of Purpose, an arm of the Western Kansas Community Foundation serving 15 counties.
