Garden City USD 457 weighs bond add-ons for ninth-grade center
Garden City school board, after a closed session, leans toward a stand-alone ninth-grade center funded under a 19 million bond. They consider adding items from the district capital plan such as artificial turf, auditorium seating, and a stadium press box to secure 30 percent state aid, with a proposed indoor pool discussed at about 1.3 million. Several members support the pool for community use, while others remain cautious about passing the 30 percent incentive.
