KPERS bill passes with changes to retirement return rules
The Kansas Senate approved Senate Bill 138 expanding KPERS retirees’ ability to return to work without the $25,000 annual earnings cap, exempting retirees who left after July 1, 2009 or who were retired 60 days before July 1, 2017. An amendment to bar elected officials from KPERS was withdrawn after debate.

GCCC earns national Paragon Award for DPAC mural
Garden City Community College and graphic designer Tiffany Heit won a first place Paragon Award from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations for the DPAC mural honoring GCCC athletic standouts.
