Sharpsville depot fire damaged by high tension wire
A Lake Erie depot at Sharpsville burned Monday night after a high tension wire broke. Peru and Kokomo Junction stations were fired at the same time but saved. Thad Speece purchased a ninety acre farm near Danville Indiana and plans to move after the sale on March 1 with a water and electric system and freight stop. The area faced five days of severe winter weather with ice and sleet causing widespread damage and leaving telegraph and telephone lines down and Union Traction service crippled delaying daily papers by several hours.
